From the beginning, Stuart & Shelby was the first builder to honestly and expertly initially assess the scope of my project. I was faced with the option of renovating a 1931 house in a historic district, with numerous structural defects. While other builders quoted me “low-ball” estimates for making some repairs, Stuart & Shelby was the first to recommend that demolition and new construction would be the most cost-effective option in the long term, given the numerous problems and uncertainties regarding the old structure. In the end, I have a new, well-constructed, modern house that meets all of my needs and within the budget I had allocated.
The building process was flawless. Stuart & Shelby handled the entire building process. They obtained architectural plans, assisted me in selecting custom elements, obtained permits, hired experienced sub contractors for each specialty, arranged for timely inspections, kept me informed on an almost daily basis of schedule. All I did was show up daily to enjoy watching my new home be built. All of the sub-contractors were very experienced and took great pride working for Stuart & Shelby. They answered my questions thoroughly and courteously each step of the way.
